More detail on this person: Fred Blanchard, 68,
of rural McCune, Kansas, died Thursday, December
8, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile
accident near McCune.
He was born June 19, 1948 in Denver, Colorado to
Harvey Fredrick and Christine Marie (Manners)
Blanchard. He grew up in Denver where he attended
school and graduated from Lincoln High School in
1966.
While serving in the United States Army during the
Vietnam War, he was an Air Cav warrant officer
flying Huey Helicopters. He later served in the
Wyoming National Guard as a pilot and medic.
For several years, Fred worked for the City of
Aurora, Colorado as a fireman and paramedic. He
also worked as a brick layer with his father.
Fred's No.1 priority was caring for his family. He
enjoyed traveling, helping others, working and
creating with his hands, and sharing his sense of
humor with others.
He and Patricia L. Johnson were married August
23, 1990 in Boulder, Colorado. She survives of the
home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: Four
Daughters - Nicole Yates--White and fiancAc,
Danny of Lakewood, CO, Michelle Lazzaro and
husband, Bob, of Lakewood, CO, Alexzandra
Blanchard of the home, Morgan Blanchard of the
home; Five Grandchildren - Meranda White and her
fiancAc,, Austin Robertson, Hannah Lazzaro,
Kaitlyn Lazzaro, J.D. Lazzaro and Anthony
Lazzaro; Two Sisters - Nancy Thompson and her
husband, Jim, of Laakewood, CO, Margaret
Peterson and husband, Ed, of Arvada, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life and Luau will be held from
5-7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the
Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons with
military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post No.
704, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Poverty (S.T.E.P., Inc.) or Disabled American
Veterans (DAV ). These may be left at or mailed to
