More detail on this person: Rick Brosius, age 76, passed from this world on September 19, 2025. Raised on a farm near Torrington, Wyo, Rick developed a life- long passion for flying and entered Army Aviation helicopter flight school after graduating high school. After his return from active duty in RVN, Rick received his early release in 1971. He briefly continued his flying career with Air America (Saigon), before returning home where he finished his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Wyoming, graduating with honors. While attending college Rick continued flying charters and instructing at Laramie Aviation. He also flew for the Wyoming Army National Guard in Cheyenne, Wy. In 1977, Rick was hired by Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Ct., as an engineering test pilot specializing in production and experimental flight testing. Eventually he was tasked with delivering retailed Sikorsky helicopters around the world, setting up flight training and maintenance programs for customers. Rick said he had visited every country except Russia and the continent of Africa. When Rick wasn't globetrotting he called Stratford home and found time for his favorite hobby of sailing. As with everything he did, Rick became an expert sailor, sailing in many countries. He also owned a Mooney private plane visiting family and friends everywhere. After retiring from Sikorsky Aviation, Rick was hired by a wealthy businessman in Oslo, Norway to fly his helicopter. After a short stint there, he signed on with Flex Jets to fly Bombardier jets commercially until he retired. Rick never married. His love of flying and hobbies consumed all his time. Rick's seven sisters apparently were company enough. He made many life-long friends all over the world. He will be missed. U
