More detail on this person: James M Barger, aged 81, of Sacramento, CA, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. Born in Bakersfield, CA, Jim was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, a Vietnam Veteran and a dedicated husband and father known for his love of horses, helicopters and his 1967 and 2010 Camaros. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, Daughter Lori, Son and Daughter in Law Brian and Amber, and many grandchildren. A service will be held on March 1 at the Gibbons Community Center in Carmichael at 3:00. Published by The Sacramento Bee from Jan. 29 to Jan. 31, 2026.
