More detail on this person: LTC. (Ret.) Allen Albert Bresette left this earthly battlefield upon orders from his Supreme Commander-in-Chief for his final assignment in heaven on Dec. 18, 2022. He was a recent resident of Panama City Beach, FL formerly from Indy. He was born Nov. 1, 1932 in Elgin, IL to John Peter Bresette and Rhoda Dorothy (Way) Bresette. LTC. Bresette was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years in 2014, Frances (Welker) Bresette. Also preceding were his father, mother, step-father Joseph Cloyd Lowden, six brothers Donald, Teddy, Gene, Ben, Sherman and Gordon and two sisters Betty and Yvonne. LTC. Bresette proudly served his country for 30 years joining the Army at 17 in 1950 and retiring in 1980. He spent the first 10 years as enlisted Infantry/paratrooper. After graduating Officers' Candidate School in 1959 he became an Army Aviator. LTC. Bresette served 3 tours in Vietnam. The first tour, 63-64 he flew the Caribou aircraft. The 2nd, 67-68 and 3rd, 71-72 he flew the Huey Helicopter. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross; 3 Bronze Star Medals; the Air Medal with 22 oak leaf clusters, one with "V" device for valor; 3 Army Commendation Medals, one with "V" device for valor; Good Conduct Medal 2d Award; 2 National Defense Service Medals; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Silver Star; Humanitarian Service Medal; Vietnam Paratrooper Badge; German Army Paratrooper Badge; U.S. Army Paratrooper Badge; U.S. Senior Paratrooper Badge; U.S. Master Paratrooper Badge; Army Aviator Badge; Senior Army Aviator Badge; Master Army Aviator Badge; Meritorious Unit Award. LTC. Bresette is survived by his three loving daughters Deborah Bresette, Pamela (Larry) Tevebaugh and Vicki (John) Bryan; four grandsons Allen Drago, Jared (Lindsey) Bryan, Jacob (Mariah) Bryan and Austin (Ramona) Drago; and five great-grandchildren Layla Thomas, Jace Bryan, Charlotte Campos, Winter Bryan and Rune Bryan. He was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center in Columbus, GA. Visitation: Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, Thurs. Dec. 29th from 10-12pm. Funeral at 12pm.
