Brewer, 70, of New Britain, died unexpectedly on
Tuesday, (December 14, 2004) at New Britain
General Hospital. He was the husband of the late
Doris (DeMay) Brewer. Born in Muskegon, MI, he
attended local schools in Muskegon MI and
graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in
1952. He was a New Britain resident since 1970.
Burt was a Chief Warrant Officer and Helicopter
Pilot in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean and
Vietnam Wars, retiring in 1973. Burt was a member
of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge
#957, VFW Post 511, The Retired Officers
Association, Vietnam Veterans Chapter #120, and
the AARP. Surviving are two sons and a
daughter-in-law, Robert and Leslie Johnson of
Kensington, Richard Johnson of New Britain; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Wayne
Ringquist of New Britain, Donna and Ray Porter of
Kensington; two brothers and a sister-in-law,
Danny and Sue Brewer and Jack and Cindy Brewer,
all of Muskegon, MI; a sister and brother-in-law,
Donna and Bob Harkin of Bay City, MI; eight
grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A
private graveside service will be held on Friday
at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery. There are no
calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to
the VNA of Central CT, 205 West Main St., New
Britain, CT. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
