More detail on this person: Edward R., 58, Colonel, US Army (Retired). Born Dec 23, 1930 in Tulsa, died Oct 30, 1989 in Oklahoma City. Parents were Jesse and Irene Bushyhead, of Claremore. He was a 1957 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, with a degree in Chemistry. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star with 2 oak leaf clusters, the Legion of Merit, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge, among many other decorations. He was a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Air Force War College in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a Senior Army Commander for 6 years. He commanded the 1st of the 15th Mechanized Infantry Battalion in Kitzingen, Germany, Training Command at Ft Polk, Louisiana, and Southern Florida Recruiting Command in Miami, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughters, Anne, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Lynne, of Los Angeles, California; son, Captain John Bushyhead, of Ft Riley, Kansas; brother, Jess Bushyhead, of Kansas City; father, Jesse Bushyhead, of Claremore; and grandson, John Robertson Bushyhead.
