Retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer David
Wayne Bragg, 50, of Fayetteville, N.C., formerly
of Layland, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley
Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He was a retired Army helicopter pilot and served
in Vietnam and Saudi Arabia. He was awarded two
Bronze stars and a Silver Star while in Vietnam.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Thursday in Layland Cemetery in Layland by the
Revs. Dale Pitsenbarger and Randy Pitsenbarger.
Mr. Bragg is survived by his wife, Patsy S. Bragg
of Fayetteville; a daughter, Ellen B. Woods of
Columbia, S.C.; and a sister, Bernice I. Bragg of
Bladensburg, Md.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to
2 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home chapel
of Rainelle.
