More detail on this person: Neal Richard Christensen, born in Humboldt, Iowa, passed into God's love January 10, 2021, in Daphne, AL. The youngest of five, he was born to Chris and Amelia Christensen on February 18, 1935. Neal leaves behind the legacy of a U.S. Army career spanning two tours in combat,service with the National Military Command Center, the U.S. Army War College, and as the Deputy Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard. Following his retirement, Neal served both God and community by his leadership in the Sun City Presbyterian Church and the Okoboji, IA, City Council. Predeceased by his brothers, sisters and his loving wife Kaye (Fredricksen), he is survived by wife Sara (VanOosterhout), Daphne, AL, son, Steve (Suzan) Fairhope, AL, Hannette Hang, Ozark, AL, as well as grandchildren Samuel Christensen, Galveston, TX, Stefanie Francisco (Jim), Montgomery, AL, Amelia Pendleton (J.P.), Auburn, AL, Eric Hang, Atlanta, GA, and great-grandchildren William, Evangeline, Alexa and Raelyn. Neal's love of Humboldt, Iowa, and the Okoboji area along with his squadron of nieces, nephews and family was always close to his heart.
