More detail on this person: Marshall Evans Clarke, Jr. passed away August 22, 2015. Marshall was
a retired Major in the U.S. Army and a decorated Vietnam War veteran with 20 years of service.
During his military career as a helicopter pilot, he earned numerous honors and awards, including 3
Purple Hearts and 15 Air Medals. As a civilian, he held positions as a Logistician, Director and
Vice President for various Defense Contractors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall
Sr. and Blanche Dean Clarke and his son, Ryan Evans Clarke. He is survived by his wife, Judith
Letendre Clarke; his daughter, Quinn Catherine Clarke; his granddaughter, Alexandra Judith Clarke
(mother, Tracee Hamell); his brother, Kenneth R. Clarke (Jan); his sister, Valerie C. Peoples
(Keith) and extended family and friends. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Vincent de
Paul Catholic Church, 230 33rd St., Newport News, VA September 2, 2015 at 10am, followed by a
Celebration of Life reception at the Knights of Columbus Council 5480, 100 Columbus Way, Newport
News, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are being accepted by St. Vincent's Back Door
Ministry and the Army Transportation Museum, 300 Washington Blvd Ft. Eustis, VA. The family would
like to express their gratitude to Dr. John Mattern and his nurse, Vickie for their exceptional
care. Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family.
