More detail on this person: OBITUARY Scott Russell Duncan OCTOBER 8, 1945 - JANUARY 7, 2022 Elder Scott Russell Duncan passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, while serving as a senior missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. Elder Duncan was born on October 8, 1945, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Shirley Louise and William Russell Duncan. Shortly afterward the family moved to Seattle, Washington, and eventually Southern California, where Scott spent his formative years. As a young man, he joined the military and served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Later, he married the love of his life, Judith Muriel Duncan, on June 21, 1975, and they were later sealed for time and all eternity on May 7, 1988, in the Oakland California Temple. He is survived by his wife, Judith, five children, Joshua, Julie, Matthew, Johnny, and Sandra, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Andrew Duncan, September 19, 1983. Elder and Sister Duncan spent 25 years in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, before their first mission call to serve in Nauvoo, Illinois, in 2017. Elder Duncan loved the Lord and was actively involved in church service throughout his adult life. He was a devoted husband and father, loved by everyone who had a chance to know him. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving man. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM EST at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11951 Old St. Augustine Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32258.
