More detail on this person: Larry Eugene Dent, 75, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, February 17, 2017. Born October 20, 1941 in Spartanburg, son of late Henry Eugene Dent and Lottie Wanida Cogdill Dent; husband of Florence Elizabeth Dent. Graduate of Wofford College, Larry was a talented musician and photographer. As a Major in the US Army, he proudly served his country as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. After leaving the Army, he became an air traffic controller for the FAA from which he later retired.

Larry was a Mason, a member of Anderson Mill Baptist Church, a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Survived by his wife, Florence; a son, Michael Dent (Lori) of Powdersville, SC; and three grandchildren, Marissa, Ethan and Andrew.

A celebration of life was held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Dunbar Funeral Home & Crematory, Spartanburg, SC
