More detail on this person: It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Albert "Al" Fitzgerald, who left us at the age of 78. Al was a beloved husband, father, and friend whose life was true testament to love and dedication to his family and friends. Throughout his years, Al exemplified the true spirit of a family man. His unwavering devotion to his wife, Susan, and his cherished children, George Fitzgerald, Kelly Lewis and Bryan Fitzgerald, was the heart of everything he did. Al's life was rooted in the deep bonds he cultivated with his loved ones, always putting family first and sharing his warmth and joy with them every day. A proud military veteran, Al carried his sense of duty and honor into every aspect of his life. This commitment shone through not only in his service but also in the way he supported and inspired those around him. He stood as a pillar of strength and integrity, approachable and kind, forever offering encouragement and wisdom that resonated with everyone he encountered. Preceded in death by his parents, Al now joins them in eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of his family and friends. Those who knew Al will forever remember his gentle nature, generous spirit, and the joy he brought into their lives. Al's presence was a gift to all who knew him, and he leaves this world having enriched it immeasurably with his kindness, wonderful sense of humor, and unconditional love. A chapel service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.
