More detail on this person: Larry Leroy Fann, 78, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026 in Abilene. He was born on October 13, 1947 in Emporia, KS to the late Morgan Dawson Fann and Ruby Marie Wilson. Mr. Fann retired from the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He served 32+ years active duty, national guard and reserves. He retired after 32+ years of Federal Service with the Federal Aviation Administration. Flying was his life. He enjoyed playing golf and working in the yard in his spare time and was an honest and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Fann, whom he was married to for 54+ years. He is also survived by a daughter, Ashleigh Fann and a son, Jeffrey Fann; brother, Marshall Dean Ryan; sister, Marsha Marie Amorfini; 4 nieces and 3 nephews. He is proceeded in death by his brother David Leo Fann. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 US Hwy 277 South in Abilene. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
