More detail on this person: Thomas Lyle Hester LTC (Ret.) Tom Hester, age 70, passed away at the Hershey Medical Center on December 9, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Jan of Hummelstown; his children and their families, Timothy of Cranberry, PA, Cheryl of Ojai, CA, and Pamela of Portland, OR; a granddaughter, Alexis; several nieces and nephews, and brothers, Charles, Donald, Patrick, and James. Tom was a retired Army Officer who served two tours in Vietnam. He distinguished himself as a senior aviator and was a recipient of honors including The Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Air Medal with Valor (35), Legion of Merit, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, several unit citations, and a special service medal from the Republic of Vietnam. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Hershey, the Rotary Club of Hummelstown, the American Legion and until recently, had been a realtor with Howard Hanna/ Detweiler of Harrisburg. Funeral services will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Hershey on Friday, December 17th at 1 p.m. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. In honor of his service to the country, his burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery on December 22nd at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to the Cardiovascular/MICU Fund at the Hershey Medical Center, P.O. Box 850, Mail Code H047, Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA 17033. Hoover Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. of Hershey, is handling arrangements.
