More detail on this person: David W. Hutchison Jr. passed away 12/23/2007. His request was cremation and to spread his ashes near Apache Lake. There will be a memorial service at the VFW in Tuscon, but no date has been set. He has a half sister, if anyone wants to send condolences. (Helicopter Dave) passed away December 23, 2007 at the age of 67. He was born at Lowery Field in Denver, Co on May 8, 1939 to Jane (Dalrympl) and David W Hutchison. At the age of eight, David gained a second mom through the marriage of his father to Jean Miller. His father being an Air Force Genera, David traveled extensively in his youth, including living in Morrocco. David followed his father's footsteps in many ways. At an early age David went to Fishbourne Military Academy, where he was known for "walking the area". He graduated high school in Columbia, SC and then spent one year in college at the University of South Carolina. By then David felt it was time to "join up" and he joined the US Army. Having caught the love of flying from his father, David went into officer's traning and then flight school. David fell in love with helicopters and became known as "Helicopter Dave". He served in Vietnam and remained in the army for a few more years, leaving as a captain. David went back toschool to the University of AZ and obtained a degree in Anthropology. He then worked for the US Forest service throughout the western states, including Big Bend national forest, holding many positions for many years. His love of the desert brought him back to Az in the early 1990's where he remained until his death. David is survived by step-mother Jean Hutchison Coe; his sister, Adrian Iveson, his nephew, Zachary Iveson; his step-son, Scott Lucas and his best friend Alyce Hileman. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William Hutchison.
