More detail on this person: Dean K. Klackner,
age 67, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on
Sunday, August 9, 2015 and his residence.
Dean was born on October 30, 1947 in Manitowoc
to the late Karl and Edith Krug Klackner. He
graduated from Lincoln School with the class of
1965. Dean continued his education by attending
flight school in Oklahoma. He then went on to
serve overseas as a helicopter pilot in the United
States Army in the Vietnam War. Dean completed
two tours of duty and retired with the rank of
Chief Warrant Officer 4. He married June Swanson
in Italy. She preceded him in death on May 2,
2008.
Survivors include Dean's daughter: Jill (Jeremy)
Taylor, Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren:
Addison and Riley; two aunts and an uncle: Betty
(William) Herman, Two Rivers; and Margaret Ruzek,
Two Rivers; also other relatives and friends. Dean
was preceded in death by his parents: Karl and
Edith Klackner; wife: June; and uncle: Joe Ruzek.
A Life Celebration Social will be held at the
Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the
south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral
Home on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 5 p.m.
until 7 p.m. and will conclude with military rites
accorded by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter
731. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan
Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of
Dean's cremated remains to be at Evergreen
Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and
Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets,
Manitowoc is assisting the family with
arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate
memorials in Dean's name.
