More detail on this person: Michael Arthur Lee (Mike), born on October 31, 1948, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by his daughter, Allyson, and wife, Charli. He was 77 years old. Mike proudly served his country as an attack helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War, showing remarkable courage, dedication, and an unwavering sense of duty while earning many medals for his bravery. After his military service, he dabbled in many different careers after eventually settling down as a supervisor for Signature Flight Support at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, where he worked for many years and formed lasting friendships. Later, he embraced the open road as a long-haul truck driver, traveling across the country before retiring_something he truly loved. Mike was known not only for his life experiences, but for his sharp mind and deep intelligence. He had a lifelong love for history and war movies, and he could recount historical events with remarkable detail, passion, and insight. When he wasn't sharing stories of how WWII came about, he was often found being the life of the party with his enthusiastic story telling. Above all, Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 44 wonderful years with his wife, Charli, and was a deeply devoted father to his daughters, Christine and Allyson. He created lasting memories by taking his daughters on trips to Ossineke, Michigan, to spend time with Aunt Sharon, camping together at Thunder Bay, and sharing adventures like fossil hunting, and Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes climbing, filling their childhood with laughter, learning, and discovery. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved firstborn daughter, Christine, in 2024 whom he carried in his heart always. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jeanne Lee, his little brother, Gordon Lee, and his first grandchild, Lydia Myers. He is survived by his loving wife, Charli; his daughter, Allyson (Jacob); and his granddaughters, Amelia (12), Madison (10), Lennon (7), and Mia (5), who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his baby sisters, Sue (Bill) Bowman and Shirley (Pete) Santino as well as many nephews and a niece. Mike was a loyal friend, devoted family man, and an extraordinary person whose wisdom, strength, and kindness touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
