More detail on this person: Stephen William Lange, 80, of Oberlin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center Main Campus after a lengthy illness. Born on June 18, 1944, in Oshkosh, WI, Stephen became a cherished resident of northeast Ohio in 1980. Stephen's life was marked by dedication and service. He proudly served as a Captain in the United States Army. After his military service, he became an Air Traffic Controller and later pursued a fulfilling career as a Science teacher at Avon Local Schools, where he inspired many until his retirement. Beyond his professional achievements, Stephen was deeply involved in his community. He served as a coach and referee for the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and found joy in reading and cultivating his beautiful rose garden. Stephen is survived by his beloved daughter, Heather Lange, and his cherished granddaughter, Nina Rendeiro. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Sharon Lynn Lange; his parents, William and Bertaline (nee Fetters)Lang; and his brother, Jeff Lange. In accordance with Stephen's wishes, there will be no formal services. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
