More detail on this person: Herman R Lawrence Age 75, Lawton - Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Most Rev. Eusebius J. Beltran, Archbishop of Oklahoma City, Rev. Kirk Larkin, pastor and Jim Coe, deacon, Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Deacon Lawrence died Saturday in a local hospital. Burial with full military honors will be in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill under the direction of Becker Funeral home. A Rosary will be at 6:30 PM and wake service at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. He was born November 21, 1933 in Roxana, Illinois to Harry A. and Wanda E. (Snyder) Lawrence. He married Loretta D. Emshousen on February 4, 1953 in Edwardsville, Illinois. Deacon Lawrence served in the United States Army for twenty years retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Following his retirement from the Army he was self employed and was a permanent deacon for thirty years serving Holy Family Catholic Church. He was also a volunteer Catholic Chaplin for area hospitals and the Lawton - Fort Sill VA Center. Survivors include his wife, of the home, six children and their spouses, Cynthia A. and Michael Riley, Drs. Bonita A. and Clayton Brooks, Mary E. and David Henderson, Laura L. and Scott Grant, Sheri L. and Larry Briggs and SSGT Michael J. and Kimberly Lawrence, ten grandchildren, Neal A. Riley, Amanda L. Riley, Sean K. Fisher, Scott C. Grant, Andrew N. Grant, Katherine L. Briggs, R. L. Briggs, Ashley L. Lawrence, Kylie N. Lawrence and London J. Lawrence, a brother, Harry C. Lawrence, North Carolina and a sister, Wanda A. Mushill, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents.
