More detail on this person: James Moore, Jr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully at the age of 82. James was born on December 1, 1942, in Stevenston, Scotland, the son of the late James Moore Sr. and Eileen Moore. Education, Career, and Service James's educational path led him from Greenwich High School in Connecticut to the University of Maryland, College Park. A dedicated professional in the airline industry, James was employed by Cumberland Airlines in Cumberland, Maryland. He later hired by Richard Hinson to work at Piedmont Airlines, where he enjoyed a successful career spanning 26 years before his retirement as Captain. A true patriot, James honorably served his country as an Army Veteran Vietnam Helicopter Pilot. His distinguished service included flying missions for NATO in Belgium and France, an experience that forged lifelong bonds. He remained connected to his military roots as a proud member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilot Association. Community and Passions Upon settling in Whitehaven, Maryland, James became an active and valued member of his community. He was a dedicated attendee of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. A man who found peace and joy on the water, James was an active member of the Wicomico Yacht Club and pursued his deep passion for sailing and boating. Family Legacy James leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Sandra K. Moore. He was a cherished father to his daughter, Nicole (Todd) Gillenardo, and a devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren, Jimmy, Henry, and Lucy, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Ed Moore (Sheila), and his niece, Erin. James Moore, Jr. will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, his distinguished military service, his successful career, and his spirited love for life on the water. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
