More detail on this person: Harry E Miller, Jr, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 20, 1926 at his home in Westlake Village, CA with his family at his bedside. He was born in Gainesville, Florida, grew up in Lyndhurst, Ohio and graduated from Charles H Brush High School. He joined the Army and attended the US Army Rotary Wing Aviator Course and served as a medical evacuation helicopter pilot in the 45th Medical Company in Vietnam choosing his callsign "Dustoff 29". While serving in Vietbam, he is rememberd as a heroic lifesaving pilot who flew more than 1,000 missions, evacuating numerous soldiers with life threatening wounds. It was here he met and married his wife, Vema, an Army Nurse at the 93rd Evacuation Hospital, thus the beginning of their 56 years of marriage. After his 18-month tour of duty in Vietnam, Harry served stateside at Fort Meade, MD at the 212th Medical Company. After the military, Harry attended Miami University, Oxford Ohio, where he earned his undergraduate and Masters of Business Administration. He then pursued a banking career as a Commercial Loan Officer. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong sports enthusiast. Harry particularly loved college and professional football and participating in his annual football pool with friends. He will be rememberd for his sense of humor and incredible memory. He is survived by his wife, Velma, son Brent Miller, Daughter Susan Miller Haas and cherished grandsons Ethan and Calbe Haas.
