More detail on this person: Thomas Mokrzycki Obituary Mr. Thomas J. Mokrzycki (CW3, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, AL, died Monday, October 14, 2024, at the home of his daughter in Decatur, Tennessee. He was 87. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 26, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Mokrzycki, son of the late Joseph Mokrzycki and Helen Florence Sowul Mokrzycki, was a native of Detroit, Michigan. He joined the United States Army at an early age and served until his retirement in 1975. Mr. Mokrzycki lived in various locations in the United States and overseas while serving in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served two tours. Mr. Mokrzycki moved to Ozark in 1969 and was employed with Ansell, Incorporated in Dothan for eighteen years. Following his retirement from Ansell, he worked with Headland Police Department as a dispatcher for twenty years. Mr. Mokrzycki was a member of the American Legion Post 73 in Enterprise, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid reader. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Mokrzycki was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Irene Eva Mokrzycki; two stepsisters, Pearl Babechenko and Helene Bessey; stepbrother, Jerry Poulson. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Marian Adkins (Lonnie), Decatur, Tennessee, Susan Dickey, Wedowee, Alabama, and Kathy Hesse (Bob), Roach, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Christina Colbaugh (Justin), Christopher Adkins, Anika Hesse, Erica Hesse, Tyler Dickey, Ashley Dickey, and Haley Dickey; four great-grandchildren, Caroline Colbaugh, Jackson Colbaugh, Anna Colbaugh, and Wrenlee Thurman; sister, Ruth Clarkson, Stockdale, Arizona; brother, David Mokrzycki (Barbara), Verbena, Alabama; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
