More detail on this person: Mr. Dennis (Denny) Anthony Rowe, Jr. passed away at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA, on Friday, March 13, 2026. He was 90. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at St John's Catholic Church in Enterprise, Alabama with Father Zachary Greenwell officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am and continuing until service time. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Rowe has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the St. John the Evangelist Church building fund. Mr. Rowe was born in Wilmington, DE, on February 4, 1936, to Rose Marie and Dennis Anthony Rowe, Sr. He attended grade school at St. Joseph on the Brandywine, A.I. Dupont High School in 1956, Embry-Riddle University and University of Maryland. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Marie Rowe; his father, Dennis Anthony Rowe, Sr.; his wife of 42 years, Katherine Anne Rowe; and his brother, James Michael Rowe. Dennis joined the Delaware Air National Guard in 1953, serving as crew chief on the F-86 Sabre Jet. He then joined the U.S. Army and became an aviator for most of his 25-year military career. During his military career, he served in Hawaii, Korea, Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, and two combat tours in Vietnam. He later served as a primary flight instructor at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Then he retired again in 1999 to serve as a full-time caregiver for his wife, Katherine A. Rowe, until her passing on September 21, 2000. Since retiring, Mr. Rowe has volunteered with DAV, transporting veterans to VA hospitals in both Tuskegee and Montgomery. He also served as a tour guide at the U.S. Army Aviation Museum. He was a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and the 147th and 178th Assault Support Helicopter Crewmember Associations. He was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Enterprise, Alabama. Dennis is survived by his four sons: Dana Michael Rowe and wife, Licia; Keith Alan Rowe; James Michael Rowe and wife, Christine; and Curtis Alan Rowe and wife, Lorena. He leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a very special lady, Donna Watson Swift.
