Seeger, 82, of Langdon Corners, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025 at his home while under the loving care of his family. Larry enlisted in the US Army April 25, 1967, retiring May 31, 1986 with the rank of Major. He served two tours in Vietnam where he piloted chinook helicopters with the 132nd ASHC and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart. Throughout his military career he worked both as a helicopter pilot and in field artillery at posts across the United States and in Augsburg, Germany. He attended and graduated from Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach, FL with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. After his distinguished Army career, Larry moved to the Canton NY area with his family and became a Land Surveyor. He owned and operated Adirondack Land Surveying, serving the region for 31 years. His funeral service will be held in Crary Mills Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 30 at 10:30 AM with Lay Pastor Skip Edie officiating. Burial will follow in Crary Mills Cemetery. Larry was born a son to the late Robert Ulrich and Frances Pauline (Brown) Seeger on May 29, 1942 in Oak Park, IL. He graduated from Pomona High School in Pomona CA and attended Cal. On July 19, 1968 he married his beloved Linda Ann Ostrander at Ft. DeRussy in Honolulu, Hawaii with Rev. Geary as celebrant. The couple were married 56 years and were blessed with a daughter Kathryn and a son Neil. Surviving are his wife Linda Seeger of Langdon Corners; a son Neil (Amanda) Seeger of Canton; a daughter Kathryn (Ron) Jeror of Canton; three grandchildren Hannah Jeror (husband Daniel Burl), Abrinel Seeger (fiancé Braydon Lavac), and Julia Seeger. He is also survived by three nieces, four nephews, eight great-nieces and six great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert U. Seeger and Frances P. Buchanon he was predeceased by a brother Robert "Bob" F. Seeger. Larry was a member of Crary Mills Presbyterian Church, Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and participated in a number of reunions for Vietnam helicopter pilots including his group, the 132nd ASHC HERCULES. Larry enjoyed spending precious time with his family, going to the family camp on the Raquette River, raising organic beef cattle, traveling with Linda and he was an avid reader.
