More detail on this person: Joseph A. Tosolini of Winter Park, Florida passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the age of 73. He was born on August 23, 1949 in Port Chester, New York. He grew up in Ansonia, Conn and attended Amity Regional High School. He attended Sacred Heart University in Conn. before joining the Army in 1969. During his time in the Army he was a Cobra Helicopter pilot and served in the 7-17 Air Cavalry unit in Vietnam. There he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star and Air Medal. At the time of his death he worked as a Purchasing Agent for the VA Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. He was actively involved in 2 motorcycle clubs - Street Forces where he served as past President & SCHOG Inc. He also was serving as Quartermaster for the Longwood VFW Post 8207 at the time of his death. He was a founding member of the Florida Chapter of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. He was preceded in death by his father Giuseppe Tosolini and mother Eleanor Evangelist. He is survived by his wife, Eileen, stepson Timothy Parker, stepdaughter in law Kelli and 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Emily & Olivia Parker, two brothers; Tony and Michael, two sisters; Barb and Carol and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Malcom Randall Veterans Hospital in Gainesville, Florida for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days. Interment to follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a time and date to be determined. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Longwood VFW Post 8207. This will be updated as the time/date are known.
