More detail on this person: John Tragis Aug. 26, 1939 ~ Dec. 21, 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Jack Tragis, on the winter solstice, Dec.21st, 2024, right about sunset. After a courageous battle with dementia, he left this world filled with love andcompassion as he entered the kingdom of heaven, where we believe our mother, Darlene, waited for him with openarms and endless joy.Jack's life was nothing short of extraordinary. An Army veteran and medic helicopter pilot in Vietnam, he was aproud Notre Dame graduate, President of the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, Catholic Stevens Minister, hunter, work-recordhalibut holder, and, most importantly, a loving father to me and my brother John, as well as a devoted grandfather.Jack is survived by his daughter Tammy, son-in-law Al, son John, daughter-in-law Tori and grandsons Ian and Scott. In Fairbanks, Alaska, a Celebration of Like will be held on Thursday, May 29 from 5:50PM-7:30PM at Pike'sWaterfront Hotel.
