Published in The Monitor on Sept. 11, 2019 A Great American War Hero Has Departed This Earth - Much, Much Too Soon! > Jim Whitner, formerly of Ingram, Texas was found deceased in his home last Saturday in Donna, TX from unknown causes. Jim had been ill for some time with heart disease and had also suffered from a small stroke a short time ago. > Jim started out in the Army as a mechanic as a teenager and worked his way up to being a fixed wing pilot, then to flying Huey helicopters in the Korean War.
