Bill Auten would likely will be able to confirm this when he returns. Bill no doubt remembers the details of the mission because he was flying OH-13s at the time and was briefed on the details before hand. He might also ID the tail number and gunner on the flight.

I think the plan was to drop a 100 lb CS cannister on a major complex to smoke the bad guys out. Optimum drop height was 100 feet AGL, or something like that. Having no bomb sight, LT AbbottâÇÖs airspeed was probably pretty low at the drop point...
