Description: This 1st Marine Div operation used the 26th Marines with the 2/3d Marines and the 3/5th Marines. It was conducted in the Thau Thien and Quang Nam border region, had the responsibility of keeping Highway 1 open and providing security for details working on the railroad between Hue and Da Nang. Casualties: U.S. 121 KIA, 848 WIA; enemy 702 known KIAs.
